Every Child Matters – Past, Present & Future Workshop at Seneca Cattaraugus Firehall

The Seneca Nation Crime Victim Services, in collaboration with Family Support Services, recently hosted the Every Child Matters – Past, Present & Future Workshop at the Cattaraugus Seneca Fire Hall. Local professionals from surrounding communities who work with our children and families attended the event. The workshop aimed to raise awareness about the impact of Indian Boarding Schools on our families and children.

The workshop included insightful presentations, cultural foods, songs & dances, a tour of the previous Thomas Indian School grounds, and thought-provoking discussions from speakers on the history and impact of Indian Residential Boarding Schools. The conversations provided actionable ideas for creating a supportive environment for Indigenous children.

Nya:wëh to all the speakers, organizers, and attendees for your commitment. Together, as a community, we’re making strides toward healing and a brighter future where Every Child Matters.
