“Nya:weh sgë:nö’ Gwagwegöh. Ëgadadatšowi. Samantha Scanlan nigyasöh. Gajo:’da:s näh Tgaenödëhda:’ hënödeyë:sta’. I am thankful you are all well. I will tell you about myself. My name is Samantha Scanlan. and I am honored to be in the position of the Native American Student Tutor/Mentor for Silver Creek Central School District.
“As I made my way back into the Silver Creek hallways, I feel honored to be able to help the students excel to the next level of higher education or find a path that is comfortable for them. I am excited to continue Silver Creek traditions while helping to implement new ones along the way! The students’ journeys here at Silver Creek are important and I’m eager to see what the future holds for everyone. I look forward to meeting and building professional relationships with the students, parents, and my new colleagues this school year!”
Mrs. Scanlan likes to stay active by playing basketball, volleyball, softball and golf throughout the year. Her hobbies include playing sports, sewing, beading, lifting weights, traveling and most importantly spending time with her family.
She and her husband, Charles “Tommy” currently reside on the Cattaraugus Indian Reservation as enrolled members of the Seneca Nation of Indians. They have four children, Charles II, Russell, June and Oscar and a dog named Bruno!
