On October 24, the Seneca Nation Health Department Sanitation Division and the Community Planning and Development Department were honored with three awards at the 2nd Annual Lead Poisoning Education Conference held at the Seneca Allegany Resort and Casino.

The conference was attended by over 200 participants from across New York State who share in the dedication of combating lead poisoning and creating safe, healthy environments for all. This years theme was “From Discovery to Recovery: Stories of Lead Afflicted Families and Pathways to Safe Homes.”

The conference was spear headed by the Lead (PB) Smart Partnership which is proudly comprised of organizations from Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, and Allegany Counties, and the Seneca Nation.

Accepting the awards from the Seneca Nation Health System was Sanitarian Roz Ground and Environmental Health Technician Carol Fisher, and from the Community Planning and Development Department were Director Dr. Donielle Lovell, Lead Inspector Leroy Montour, and Inspector AC Watt (missing from the photo Cam Twoguns).

Congratulations to both departments for their commitment to the health and safety of our people and homes.
