In July, Pat Spruce, his wife Laura, sister Marcia and niece Georgie traveled to Tri-Cities Washington for the National Horseshoe Pitching Association (NHPA) 2024 World Tournament. Pat was undefeated after the first two days of competition. At the end of the last day of competition, Pat finished 2nd in his class. His wife, Laura, also finished 2nd in her class.
Pat has been playing horseshoes since 1984. He played indoors at Leisure Land in Hamburg and was part of the Cowboys and Indians league that traveled to Hamilton, Ontario to compete. His first World Tournament appearance was in Hamburg, NY in 2014. He became a World Champion with a record of 13 – 2. He has competed all over the country including St. George, Utah; Montgomery, Alabama; Topeka, Kansas; Wichita Falls, Texas; Florence, South Carolina; and Lansing, Michigan.
Next year the World Tournament will be held in Salt Lake City, Utah. Pat and his wife, Laura, are planning to compete in the 2025 World Tournament in Salt Lake City, Utah. Ja:göh!
