Feature President

A message from President J.C . Seneca

Heyhey, Nya:wëh sgë:nö’ my fellow Senecas!

This week marks the first 60 days of this administration’s term. We have completed 6 public meetings to address the community’s stance on the Compact negotiations with NYS.

In addition, we are sending out a Compact Public Opinion Poll, which enrolled members may have already received in the mail. Please take the time to fill out and submit it to ensure that your voice is heard.
Some committees that are being implemented or developed are:

•Compact Negotiation
•Thruway Litigation
•Foreign Relations
•Constitutional reform
•Judicial Reform task force

Over the next several weeks, I’ll be introducing the President’s Office Staff.

First Lady Nicole Seneca, Administrative Assistant to the President

I’ll begin with Nicole Seneca, who is one of the Administrative Assistants to the President. Nicole holds a dual Bachelor’s degree in Business and Human Services. She is an entrepreneur with over 25 years of business ownership and management experience. She is a partner and Board Member of our 501c3 non-profit “Nicole and JC Seneca Foundation”, which focuses on community needs and promotes healthy minds, bodies and spirits. Nicole founded a community service project, “It Takes a Tribe”, several years ago, which continues to support and serve Seneca children in Foster and Kinship care, as well as their caregivers. Lastly, but not least, she’s the amazing mother of seven children, who homeschools our two middle schoolers, all while helping to keep my office running smoothly.

Nicole has an integral role in the Presidents Office. She manages my calendar, is my point person for planning meetings and appointments, helps with staffing, organization and communication. Nicole is a wordsmith & editor, a department & community outreach coordinator, and handles a host of other duties, including the role as our Seneca Nation First Lady. I feel that we are all very fortunate to have her as a predominant part of our Seneca Nation family.

Please keep an eye out for weekly Presidential video updates on Seneca Media & Communications social media platforms. I hope everyone stays warm and healthy!

Nya:wëh,
JC
