Intersection Improvement at NY Route 438 and Versailles Plank Road Town of Collins, Seneca Nation Cattaraugus Territory, in Erie County
The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) will provide displays and discuss the proposed intersection improvement project at the public information meeting. The meeting will primarily focus on the intersection of NY Route 438 and Versailles Plank Road in the Town of Collins and Cattaraugus Territory of the Seneca Nation, Erie County.
Project Description:
The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) is proposing a roundabout at the intersection of NY Route 438 and Versailles Plank Road. The intersection is currently a two-way controlled stop with a flashing signal and no dedicated left turns on any of the four approaches. The intersection currently has a high crash rate compared to the national average. The roundabout will slow down traffic approaching the intersection, will maintain the traffic flow and reduce the severity and number of accidents at the intersection.
The public information meeting will be held at the following time and location:
- Tuesday, February 25, 2025, from 5pm to 7pm at the Seneca Nation of Indians Cattaraugus Community Center (CCC) – 12767 NY Route 438 Irving, NY 14081
The meeting will include an informal presentation at 5:15pm. NYSDOT representatives familiar with the various aspects of the proposed project will be available to answer questions and provide information about the project.
