A Celebration of Indigenous Fashion at the First Peoples Fashion Show in Estes Park, Colorado was on display for the world to see Saturday, January 18th. The Seneca Nation’s own Ganöndi:ye’s “Charli Rae” Hill , Wolf Clan and Gah’ dji’dji Sarah Nephew, Beaver Clan, along with Indigenous Model Ana Yulaly Stahlman, Tuscarora and Tepaneca walked for Fashion Designer Stacey Mitchell.
Stacey Mitchell, Akwesasne Mohawk Tribe, is best known for her use of materials, designs, and accessories that portray the history of her community, while simultaneously showing where the future of her community is striving to go.
In conjunction with First Peoples Festival of Estes Park Colorado, the show was held at the beautiful Holiday Inn Ballroom where six Indigenous designers from around the country presented their creations after an opening reception. Designers included:
