April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month

This month highlights the widespread nature of sexual violence and its effects on individuals within our communities.

Repost from SNI Crime Victim Services

  • Native Americans are sexually assaulted at a rate nearly double that of any other race annually.
  • More than 1 in 3 Native American women will have experienced some type of sexual assault or harassment in their lives.
  • By increasing public awareness of sexual violence, elevating the voices of survivors, and promoting collaboration between families and communities, we can improve the safety and well-being of all.
