Gannon Students Visit Allegany Territory Nation Departments

Recently, a group from Gannon University spent several days visiting and learning on the Ohio:yo’ Territory. The group was welcomed with the Edge of the Woods protocol led by Ansley Jemison (Seneca Nation).

Over the course of their visit the group also received a Seneca language lesson from the Allegany Language Department, a foraging walk with Cheryl Graham (Seneca Nation), and a corn husk doll making with Bernadette Scott (Seneca Nation).

Their visit included visits to various Seneca Nation departments including Gakwi:yo:h Farms and the Fish Hatchery. And Onöhsagwë:de’ Cultural Center staff along with Aaron Miller spent time with the students in the Living Longhouse.
