As of Monday, June 16, 2025, temporary amendments to the Comprehensive Conservation Law of the Seneca Nation have been enacted as follows:
- Fishing License sales shall resume on June 16, 2025, but only for Temporary Fishing Licenses;
- Temporary Fishing Licenses will be made available at the Seneca Nation Clerk’s Office, Highbanks Campground, and Seneca One Stops; (NOTE: Only Highbanks Campground will be available to sell licenses on Monday, June 16. The Clerk’s Office and Seneca One Stops will be available on June 17.)
- Licensees shall be prohibited from fishing in the restricted areas identified in the maps of the Allegany (Appendix A) and Cattaraugus (Appendix B) Territories;
- The use of lead sinkers, including split shot, weighing one-half ounce, or less is prohibited;
- Licensees are permitted to fish in the highlighted restricted areas only if they are accompanied by an enrolled member;
- Temporary Fishing Licenses sold prior to Monday, June 16, 2025, shall expire on December 31,2025.
All other provisions of the Comprehensive Conservation Law shall remain in full force and effect; except to the extent any such provisions shall conflict with the temporary amendments. The temporary amendments shall expire and be of no further force or effect on January 1, 2026.
