The Canadian Postal workers went on strike on September 25th. It is no longer a Nationwide strike; it is now a rotating strike. Canadians can expect to see some mail moving in their mailboxes again, but not on a regular schedule.
September’s Annuity checks were mailed prior to the strike. We have set up an in-person pick-up for October Elder’s and Annuity checks at the Buffalo Office at 24 Wiley Place, Buffalo, NY 14207 on Wednesday & Thursday October 22 & 23 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (It is right next door to the Nazareth Lutheran Church, which is where you can park.) Phone #s are (716)845-6304 or (716)951-7555. We will have registration forms, Elder, Minor Trust and regular direct deposit forms for US bank branches (Must have your account at a US branch), electronic wire forms for Canadian banks, minor trust forms and affidavit forms that need to be filled out if you have not received your September Annuity.
Must have a valid picture ID.
If one family member wants to pick up additional checks for their family members, they must have a notarized letter giving them permission. (Include their name, enrollment # and contact info.) This person will also sign the affidavit form for them, so it is imperative that we stress to them to NOT cash the September check that was already mailed.
We will have at least one notary present on both pick-up days.
If you prefer for your checks to be mailed please contact the Clerk’s Office at (716)945-1790 or (716)532-4900.
