I have a story to share, back in the spring Seeing Red Media and Lang Models hosted a model call here in Akwesasne, I happened to be working on my porcupine corset and Diane Lang asked if she could take a picture and send to a photographer Raphael Mazzucco. A very long story short I was invited to Connecticut and asked to bring the corset. Off to Connecticut we went with my ride or die Shari Bigtree Adams, we brought other designers work and my personal beadwork collection, not really knowing what we were getting into…
A 4 day Italian Magazine shoot with Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Giorgio Armani, Hermès, Schiaparelli & Prada: Impossible Conversations, Dolce and Gabbana to name a few, we helped on set did hair makeup lent a hand wherever we could. On the 4th day the editor looked at me and said in her Italian accent, “Tisha Go get your designs” while they were shooting my designs I walked away and cried then I looked and they were all crying. The Italians gave my porcupine corset its own page in the magazine alongside all these big designers. This photo featuring Ganöndi:ye’s “Charli Rae” Hill and accessories by the awesome Laura Barnes is now on stands in Italy in the Dry Magazine
Later on this evening Ill post all the photos in the magazine and credits to all the amazing Collaborating artists.
