Olivia Porter Wins National Political Science Award

Olivia Gawehnidi Porter has been selected as a 2026-2027 American Political Science Association (APSA) Diversity Fellow, awarded to students applying to doctoral programs in political science.

Olivia is a current graduate student at Stanford University, pursuing an MA in philosophy with a focus on ethics and political philosophy. She earned her BA in political philosophy from Syracuse University, where she graduated magna cum laude with honors. She plans to continue this research in a PhD program by studying the relations between Haudenosaunee political thought and Western political philosophy.

Olivia is a member of the Turtle Clan from the Allegany Territory. She is the daughter of Odie and Rob Porter and the granddaughter of Carolyn Brant, the late Randy Brant, and the late Lana Redeye.
