Penelope “Penny” Minner’s mural at the Onöhsagwë:de’ Cultural Center was unveiled on December 20, 2025 during the Winter Art Market.
Penny (Seneca, Turtle Clan) has been an integral part of the artist community as well as the museum. A steward of culture, Penny has been practicing traditional basket making for years, and shares her knowledge of the craft in community classes and workshops. The debut will take place on December 20th, 2025 at 12pm with a small luncheon to follow.
This project is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) CHARM Initiative with the support of the Office of the Governor and administered locally by The ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes (The ARTS Council). Titled “As Long As the Rivers Flow,” we caught up with Penny last month to hear about this new project and her inspirations behind it.
