Pop Up Youth Community Workshop Hosted by Community Aunties and SNI Little Misses

By Steph Stafford

We faced the elements to gather for a Pop Up Youth Community Workshop hosted by us Aunties and SNI Little Misses on January 20, 2026.

It’s been an honor to share “Auntie teachings and coming of age classes” – Hoping all those that had attended had a great experience.

NYA:WËH to the Sully Huff Fam for providing us the space to bring new opportunities and connections to our community members. Felt like a snowglobe of possibilities as we gathered together. We made the most of our day. Thankful to the aunties and uncles that showed up and made yesterday possible.

We’ve created a network of caring Aunties that fill in the spaces where it’s needed in life and for our programs vision. “These are full circle moments for ourselves and our community.” We continue to learn together.

Auntie Shavonne Stevens shared Moontime Teachings with another round of young girls that will feel prepared, cared for and proud of their bodies Thank you for discussing these important topics and being a Community Educator and Family Support to us all. Reminding us this is a time to rest and recover as they learn we are aligned with the moon phases. Each participant received a Moon time Kit – Thank you to the community moms and aunties for your donations.

Auntie Shaina Gates shared the importance of Fitness, Emotional & Physical Wellness. The empowerment activity had each of us share a part of ourselves in a safe place. Shaina has been helping us along our journey lending a hand wherever is needed. TY.

Auntie Aedzaniyo tapped in to share some Gratitude and encouragement going into our New Year

We had some of the little guys sitting amongst the singers for their first time. Twas a special moment for a couple of our families that attended.

To one of our most loving Community Aunties of all Erika Ann Stevens holding it down and providing us with a delicious warm meal to fuel our minds and bellies. Hope you know how very appreciated you are!!

Shout-out to Auntie Steph Maybee for the comfort food chicken noodle soup for the soul. Marissa Manitowabi for your donation and continuous support. Karen Beck provided us with the most yummy desserts to top off the day.

We have a lot of behind the scenes help every season that doesn’t go unnoticed. Thank You sooo much!
We made it happen.
