The Seneca Nation is currently accepting letters of intent for those interested in serving on the following board:
UTILITIES COMMISSION
(1) ALLEGANY
The Utilities Commission is an independent committee within the government of the Seneca Nation of Indians established for the purposes of:
a) Managing and operating the utility services that may be created from time to time by the Seneca Nation, including natural gas, electricity, water, wastewater disposal and any other utility service that Council places under the authority of the Commission and
b) Such utility services shall be managed and operated in the public interest, with the primary goal of providing the largest number of Nation members with utility services at the lowest possible cost while high quality and reliable service.
Eligibility: Any nation member who is at least 21 years old is eligible to serve as a Commissioner, no Councilor or Executive may serve as a Commissioner, and no employee of any department whose activities are supervised by the Commission.
Members shall serve a 3-year term.
