Creator’s Game and the Power of the Divine Feminine

March 2026 | Repost from linkedin

This Women’s History Month, Pacific Northwest Native Lacrosse was honored to host an important conversation about the deeper cultural teachings within the Creator’s Game.

They were joined by Claudia Jimerson, Director of Lacrosse Operations for the Haudenosaunee Nationals, for a conversation titled: Creator’s Game and the Power of the Divine Feminine Within Haudenosaunee teachings, the game carries deep connections to matrilineal traditions and the role of women as life-givers, leaders, and protectors of culture. Understanding the place of the feminine within the Creator’s Game is essential to understanding the game itself.

As lacrosse continues to grow around the world, it is important that we also create space to learn from the Indigenous knowledge systems that have guided this game for generations. This conversation explored the role of the Divine Feminine within the Creator’s Game and why centering the voices and leadership of Native women is critical as the game continues to evolve.

Claudia shared “Grateful for the opportunity to share my perspective on the Creator’s Game and the Divine Feminine during Women’s History Month. Lacrosse has always been more than a sport. It is energy, spirit, love, and healing. When we look beyond the competition, the game invites us to reconnect with something deeper within ourselves and with each other. In this conversation, I reflect on the power of the Divine Feminine, an energy that lives within all of us; regardless of whether we are men or women. When we honor that balance of energies, the game becomes a pathway for reflection, connection, and healing.

My hope is that more people begin to see lacrosse not just as a game played on the field, but as a sacred space that reminds us of who we are and the harmony we are meant to carry forward.” At Pacific Northwest Native Lacrosse, we believe honoring the origins of the game also means uplifting the women who carry its teachings forward. We are incredibly honored that Claudia shared her perspective and leadership with our community. We hope you were able to join us for this important discussion.
