Gloria Heron, Deer Clan, Peacemaker Court Judge, was honored at the March Regular Session of Council following her retirement in November 2025. Her family and friends gathered to celebrate her more than 40 years of dedicated service to the Seneca Nation, in roles ranging from Secretary in 1975 to various positions throughout the 1980s and 1990s, including SG&E Gaming Director in 1997, and concluding with 15 esteemed years behind the judicial bench.
In retirement, Gloria enjoys spending time with her three children and their spouses, 10 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren, proudly attending the “Grands’” sporting events and celebrating their many achievements. She also enjoys golf outings with her crew—fondly called “the old bitties.” Her favorites include beach vacations, concerts and drum corps shows, card class, casino buffets, chicken curry, spaghetti and meatballs, a good Diet Coke, and time with her mischievous cat, Mr. Wheat.
