Wampum Traditions at GES! Our Title VI students at Gowanda Elementary recently spent two special afternoons learning the art of wampum crafting!
On March 5th and 12th, guest Darice Sampson visited our after-school program to share the history and significance of these beautiful beads. Our young Panthers practiced their focus and fine motor skills to create their very own bracelets using clay beads designed to resemble traditional shell wampum.
Every student headed home with a handmade piece of art and a deeper connection to local culture. Great job, Panthers!
