The 2026 Memorial Day ceremony, held at the Seneca Allegany Administration Building on Monday, May 25th, brought our community together to remember all the brave men and women warriors who have served with honor. The Iroquois Post 1587 lead the service with the ceremonial tolling of the bells, giving special recognition to Onöndowa’ga:’ service members. The following members were honored for their service: Raymond John, served in WWII, Kenneth Fatty, served in WWII, and William P. Jones, served in The Vietnam War. Each year the Commander prepares a special recognition for three unique veterans.
Thank you to the Iroquois Post 1587, the Auxiliary Post 1587, the Seneca Nation Executives & Council, Kirk Mohawk for playing TAPS, Al George for singing the Veterans’ and Flag song, Petrice Neyman for singing the US National Anthem & Canadian Anthem, and all who joined us in paying tribute to their sacrifice and legacy.
