Marcus Gamble Ranked 5th at Gowanda High School

Marcus’s journey at GCS is filled with outstanding achievements and leadership. Ranked fifth in his class and serving as Class Representative for grades 9-12, Marcus sets a powerful example for his peers. His recent induction into the National Technical Honor Society at Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES highlights his dedication to excellence in Culinary Arts at the LoGuidice Educational Center.

Marcus has appeared on the academic honor roll, in the Senior Prom Court, and was recognized on Senior night for Lacrosse, Cheerleading, and Cross Country.

A Student of the Month in January 2024 and December 2022 for his excellent communication skills, and collaboration in November 2022, “Marcus has demonstrated excellent communication skills so far this year. In class, he is often a leader when working with his peers,” said teacher Mrs. Michelle Merrill. “Since Marcus is nearly always focused on completing his work to the best of his ability and on time, he has been a great influence on his classmates. He is constantly asking questions and advocating for himself to make sure he has the information and tools he needs to be successful.”

Marcus attended a Youth Leadership Summit at the Orchard Park Community Center in April 2024. The summit theme was “RESPECT Connects Us” and students from across the region participated in sessions on driving safety, inclusive communities, team building, PSA development and other activities.

PATTERNS & EMPOWERMENT: Over the mid-winter break in February 2024, Gowanda High students spent time making ribbon shirts, skirts and dresses with the My Brother’s Keeper Native American Program sewing project under the direction of Ms. Darice Sampson and coordinated by Ms. Amy Mohawk. Marcus plans to further his education at Penn State where he will study Forest Ecosystem Management. He is the son of Denise Seneca and Calvin Gamble.
