Rules and regulations
- Entries in this department close on August 24th and should be transferred by the respective chairperson.
- Competition is open to all Haudenosaunee and their families of New York for material grown or made by the exhibitor, properly tagged with name, territory, and post office address. Items should be handed in to your VP or designated transportation person on your territory. The right to exhibit shall be determined by the board of each territory.
- All exhibits must be ready at opening of the fair at 10:00 A.M. on August 26th, 2026, and remain through the fair.
- Protest on awards must be in writing and filed with the superintendent of the village by the morning of the last day of the fair, Sept 7th.
- Exhibitor assumes risk associated with, resulting from or arising in connection with exhibitor’s participation or presence at the New York State Fair, including, risks of theft, loss, harm, or injury to the person, property, whether caused by negligence, intentional act, accident, “act of god” or otherwise. Exhibitor has sole responsibility for its property or any theft, damage, or other loss to such property, whether or not stored in any courtesy storage area. The New York State Fair, nor any of their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives or assigns, shall be liable for, and exhibitor hereby releases all of them from, and covenants not to sue any of them with respect or, risks, damages, and liability described in this paragraph.
Divisions Include:
- Farm Products – Corn, Beans, Squash, Potatoes, Vegetables, and Fruit
- Old “Iroquois” Material – Rattles, Lacrosse Sticks, Snow Snakes, Clothing, Silver Work, War Clubs
- Homemaker’s Dept. – Canned Goods
- Utilitarian and Beadwork – Baskets, Pottery, Beaded Items
- Needlework and Craft – Quilting, Sewing, Finger-weaving, Crochet, Knitting, Corn Husk
- Youth Dept. – All of the above categories are included for youth entries
- Six Nations Art – Drawing, Painting, Graphic Art (each group is split up by age categories)
If you are interested in submitting items for the NYSF, items can be dropped off at the Stanley “Sully” Huff Cultural Center, in the Bead Room. Just leave your items and fill out one of the forms to accompany them.
Last day for drop offs and pickups is August 24th.
