The On Eagles’ Wings team based out of Harrison, Arkansas, is comprised of about 30 native students from tribes all over the country ages 15-30. Each student attends the week-long Warrior Leadership Summit (WLS), applies for the Summer of Hope team, then trains through a 3-day ‘boot camp’ to prepare for a month-long journey sharing the gospel at various reservations.
This year Cattaraugus territory was their first stop. The team devotes three evenings for basketball, lacrosse, food, and other fun activities to get a chance to meet local residents. Throughout the event, they pause a couple of times so that a team member can share their ‘hope story.’ Some have struggled with drugs, alcohol, and abuse and go on to tell how they found hope through a relationship with Jesus Christ. Many listened to their stories and were encouraged throughout the week!
The team moved on to the Tonawanda and Tuscarora territories before heading up to Maine.
