Strength in Community: Building the Future Together
Join us in Buffalo, New York, at the Buffalo Convention Center for the 57th Annual NIEA Convention & Trade Show, taking place October 7–10, 2026.
Each year, this gathering brings together Native educators, students, Tribal leaders, and advocates from across the country to connect, learn, and move Native education forward together.
The 2026 theme, “Strength in Community: Building the Future Together,” reflects the collective responsibility we carry to support one another, uplift our students, and shape education systems that honor sovereignty, language, and identity.
Educator Day (October 7)
A dedicated day for educators working in Native-serving schools and programs, focused on practical strategies, meaningful connection, and shared learning grounded in community and experience.
Student Day (October 8)
A space created for Native youth to come together, engage in interactive sessions, build connections, and experience learning that reflects who they are and who they are becoming.
Throughout the week, attendees can expect engaging keynotes, thoughtful sessions, cultural experiences, and an exhibit hall that brings together organizations and partners committed to Native education.
The NIEA Convention is more than a gathering. It is a space where relationships are strengthened, ideas are shared, and the future is shaped through community.
