Rodney Haring recently shared “I’m excited to open a new space for my—our—evolving contemporary art practice.
From the box, to the field, and now the canvas, lacrosse has always been part of my life. Through carving, steaming, bending, design, dream-storming, and abstraction, the work explores the sculptural possibilities of wood alongside rawhide and an evolving array of materials and mediums.
The work moves between Indigeneity and contemporary expression—a space where story, wood, movement, thought, scholarship, fashion, and design intersect. Where familiar forms can be reshaped and imagined differently.
I hope this new virtual space creates connections among community, collectors, curators, galleries, and museums—and invites new conversations about Indigenous art, material, form, and what comes next.
