Sylvia L. Jock (“Beege”), Turtle Clan from the Cattaraugus Territory is running for Collins Town Justice on November 3, 2026.
Sylvia was first appointed to office as a Peacemaker Judge in Nov. 2016 and then ran for the public office in November 2017 and was elected to a four year term. She then ran for Court of Appeals Judge and was successful but after serving two years on the appellate bench she decided to return to the trial court and ran again for Peacemaker in 2023 and was successful again. She is presently the administrative Peacemaker judge and have been on the bench for a total of ten (10) years. Sylvia is a certified Paralegal and has primarily worked in Corporate and Federal Employment Relations Law. She’s also worked in both plaintiff and defense law firms in Buffalo, N.Y. and Baton Rouge, LA. She is a strong and firm advocate of due process and civil rights protections. Sylvia has continued her legal education with the National Judicial College and has received two (2) Judicial Certifications for judgeship.
Sylvia feels that if elected, she will be able to address and collaborate with the outside authorities on cross border issues that are present on the Territory with regard to over policing and surcharges placed upon our people.
“I encourage all registered Cattaraugus Territory members registered in the Town of Collins to get out and vote so we can have a voice and set standards that will benefit our citizens!”
