Now that Halloween is over and everyone has had their fill of candy treats, we focus on cleaning up the fall and Halloween decorations in preparation for the upcoming winter season.
Do you ever wonder what to do with all those carved pumpkins sitting on the front porch? Look no further than our very own Gakwi:yo:h Farms! Their staff have been out picking up leftover pumpkins across the territories to feed the bison.
Bison are herbivores, therefore only eat plants, fruits, vegetables and vegetation. So this time of year they get to enjoy a delicious fall treat too, thanks to the community members and local farmers who graciously donate their leftover pumpkins for the animals to enjoy.
“Nya:wëh to those that donated pumpkins. Our bison are loving them!” said Mike Snyder, Gakwi:yo:h Farms Director.
