The Seneca Nation Marshall Department was the recipient of a special treat from the “Third Grade Leaders Group” at Prospect Elementary in the Salamanca City Central School District on March 25th.
The Third Grade Leaders Group, now in its 10th year of operation, is comprised of a group of ten students who applied, interviewed and were appointed to the team. The group hosts multiple events in an effort to bring the school and community together. Their most recent event, “Penny Wars” were created with the thought of a community give back day. The students set a fundraising goal and determined where they felt the need was to give back. Their first suggestion was to give to services, including the SNI Marshalls, the Fire Department, the Police Station and the SCCSD Transportation Department.
The team believes in strong relationship and wanted to show their appreciation for the individuals who go above and beyond on a daily basis to make the community safe in which they live. We:so Nya:wëh!
