Please be advised of the following policies regarding trash pickup procedures for Seneca Nation members in the City of Salamanca and Nation’s Allegany Territory.
Eligibility shall be limited to Enrolled SNI Members Head of Households residing in a primary residence within the City of Salamanca and the Nation’s Allegany Territory.
No business related refuse pick-up. NO EXCEPTIONS.
No paints, tires petroleum-products (gas/oil/solvents etc.) permitted in bags marked with Nation Stickers. No other flammable liquids or unlawful chemical or waste disposal permitted under the residential pick-up policies.
Failure to follow policies will result in disqualification as an eligible household.
On a monthly basis each eligible household should obtain six (6) thirty (30) gallon stickers per household per week. A total of twenty five (25) such stickers will be handed out. Stickers may be obtained at the SNI Allegany Clerk’s Office.
Monday -Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- An enrolled SNI Member shall not be allowed to register multiple households and no-one shall be permitted to register more than one time for a single household.
- Each enrolled member/head of household shall be responsible for demonstrating “primary residence” status of said household. Such status shall be demonstrated by major utility account(s) in the members’ name for the address he or she is registering. Addresses (will be verified), Utility account and Nation Tribal ID must all match.
- Each enrolled member/head of household shall have an application for service and copy of Tribal I.D. on file.
Eligible members shall be responsible for:
- Supplying trash/garbage bags and sealing the bags and placing the sealed bags at curbside for pickup (bags may be placed at curbside inside containers marked -however, open or torn bags max. not be picked up.)
- Recyclables: (glass/plastic/newspaper/tin/corrugated cardboard) placed in separate containers and scheduled for pick-up first (1st) week each month.
- Affixing Stickers -up to six (6) thirty (30) gallon bags per week. NO STICKER -NO PICK-UP-NO EXCEPTIONS.
- Notifying the Administrator two (2) weeks of any change of address.
