Ja:göh Sailor Shawn M. Remsen, 19, of Salamanca (Allegany Territory, Grandson of Rodney Pierce, Son of Terri Remsen) graduated from U.S. Naval boot camp at Recruit Training Command in Chicago, Illinois, on July 21, 2023. Sailor Remsen successfully completed 10 weeks of basic training at RTC as one of 80 recruits in Division 932.
Immediately following boot camp graduation, he reported to the Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Florida, where he will train for 4 months to become an Aviation Support Equipment Technician. He is projected to graduate as an Airman on November 22nd and will then report to Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point in North Carolina for 1 month of further training before reporting to his assigned ship in the fleet.
