United Way of Buffalo & Erie County celebrated Native American Heritage Month with their You Belong Book Series!

“Today we were joined by Brad John (on November 16, 2023), who is a member of the Seneca Nation of Indians and the Director of the Cattaraugus Community-Center.  Brad read Fry Bread: A Native American Family Story by Kevin Noble Millard & illustrated by Juana Martinez-Neal.” ~ United Way

It was a pleasure being being asked to represent the CCC and SNI to read the book “FryBread” during United Ways Native American history month segment, said Brad John.

The You Belong Book Project:

In February 2023, United Way of Buffalo & Erie County kicked off a new initiative — the You Belong Book Project, which is a year-long celebration of cultural heritage and identity through children’s books. Each week, a community member will stop by to share a story they love with our audience. The recordings will be archived on United Way’s YouTube channel, creating a rich and diverse library of early childhood readings.
