This Summer the SNI IT department will be hosting a summer coding camp for Senecas and community members of the Cattaraugus and Allegany territories. Details can be found on the flyer below. This foundational experience is meant to excite and inspire campers to enter the Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. Native Americans are underrepresented in STEM and this is attributed to a lack of exposure to computing resources at a young age. This camp will provide that exposure and get our smart kids into STEM!
Each day the camp will build on itself so please only apply if the camper can make all 5 days. In addition to teaching the kids how to write l33t code we will talk about such interesting topics as Artificial Intelligence, Hacking, Malware Analysis, and App development. Coding is the most important skill used in these areas.
With gracious donations from Cousin Brownie and the JC Seneca Foundation we will be able to provide campers with T-shirts and laptops (only for those who have perfect attendance).
To give each camper the best experience, space will be limited to 15.
