Pottery Pete: Revitalizing Hodinöhšo:ni:h Pottery

Pottery Pete: Revitalizing Hodinöhšo:ni:h Pottery is an official selection for the 2024 Buffalo International Film Festival!

Ancient Voices Media and The ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes (The ARTS Council) are thrilled to announce that Pottery Pete: Revitalizing Hodinöhšo:ni:h Pottery is an official selection for the 2024 Buffalo International Film Festival!

Produced by Ancient Voices Media, the documentary short was created by Jocelyn J. Jones and Cami Jones, Peter’s great-nieces, and T.C. Owens, through The ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes’ 2023 Community Documentation Workshops. This short is an intimate exploration of the artistic journey of Peter B. Jones (Onondaga, Beaver Clan), a distinguished Hodinöhšo:ni:h potter and lifelong resident of the Cattaraugus Territory of the Seneca Nation of Indians.

The film will be screening at North Park Theatre as part of the Buffalo International Film Festival this fall. We are tremendously proud of this piece. If you’re in the Buffalo area on October 11th, come see it! Learn more about the film project: earts.org/pottery-pete/
