Iroquois Genealogy Society 2025 DOINGS

Greetings! We hope everyone is staying healthy and safe this winter.

2025 will be IGS’s 10th year in existence! Time flies! We have met many people and made many friends through our shared love of genealogy. It’s been fun and exciting to learn about family histories.

Our first meeting is March 13 at 6pm at the Cattaraugus Community Center MPR. Genealogy 101 and IGS 10 yr history will be presented by Teresa VanAernum.

Genealogy 101 will focus on tips to begin your genealogy journey. Forms, supplies and information will be available for you to use in your research. Genealogy resources through the SNI Archives Department and Clerk’s office will be discussed.

IGS 10th year Anniversary will be celebrated. Highlights throughout the years will be shown. And of course, there will be cake!

Our second meeting will be April 10th at the Allegany Community Center MPR at 6pm. Genealogy Resources and Family questions. This meeting will continue the discussion from last month’s meeting. Online resources will be presented such as Ancestry, the IGS website (iroquoisgenealogysociety.org) and others. Attendees will be encouraged to share their research journey and ask questions regarding any information you are looking for.

We have an exciting year ahead with family presentations (Waterman and White), and topics of interest to all!

Please bring a dish to pass, table setting and beverage is provided.

Let’s learn more family histories! It’s important!
