A notice from the Seneca Nation Environmental Protection Department:
Organic fertilizer application is an annual process permitted by the Environmental Protection Department. Organic fertilizers (such as manure) may produce strong odors, but this smell dissipates quickly once properly tilled into the soil. Farmers on territory are required to use only plant-based, organic fertilizer certified as organic through EPD.
