Remembering service members who made the ultimate sacrifice
On Memorial Day, Seneca Nation leadership holds a commemorative event to honor our fallen soldiers and their families. Though a somber day, it is important to proudly recognize our brothers and sisters who paid the ultimate sacrifice. We are all a better country and Nation for their service and dedication to freedom and resilience. Each year, the Iroquois Post 1587 leads the day’s service with the ceremonial tolling of the drum and gives special recognition to Onöndowa’ga:’ servicemembers by remembering their story. This year, those honorees were Collins Moses, Kenneth Fatty, and Ralph Bowen, who all served during World War II. We are grateful to these and all the fallen for their service.
