Seneca Language Teacher Support and Community Outreach (SLTSCO) Update

The Allegany Language Department is now Seneca Language Teacher Support and Community Outreach (SLTSCO). We are excited to continue serving the Seneca language learning and teaching community.

SLTSCO Mission: To provide Seneca language access to the community and professional learning opportunities, including certification support, to Seneca language instructors.

Staff:

Director of Seneca Language Teacher Support & Community Outreach: Ja:no’s–Janine Bowen, ext. 3171.
The SLTSCO Director assists in the development of Seneca language learning opportunities for the community, offers teacher development opportunities to Seneca language instructors, and coordinates the Seneca language teacher training program.

Digital Media and Web Developer:
Niya’sgë:ö’–James Crane, ext. 3173
The Digital Media and Web Developer designs and maintains https://senecalanguage.com, in addition to developing, producing, editing, and distributing Seneca language videos, audio files, publications, and other digital learning tools.

Community Outreach Educators:

The Community Outreach Educators provide Seneca language instruction via community and SNI Department classes, online learning, tutoring sessions, and language-use events. They also create Seneca language resources and show community members what is available to assist them on their Seneca language learning journey.
