Over 500 Tires Removed from Highbanks Campground

A BIG shout out to Highbanks, EPD and DPW!!!!

Highbanks Campground, along with the Environmental Department and the Department of Public Works cleaned up over 500 tires in an area that is commonly traveled by people using the walking trails. I’ve been told the tires have been on the property for over 30 years and we felt it’s time to for them to go. Such a mess, all cleaned up, and I want to sincerely thank all of those who dug in there and got their hands dirty. We will continue cleaning up other areas of the campground and do our best getting the tires cleaned up.

The Allegany Community Center hosted the annual H.E.R.O. Committee’s Halloween Bash! Guests rocked their spookiest, silliest, and creative costumes and enjoyed a haunted hallway, creepy snakes, and of course, candy! Nya:wëh to all the staff, volunteers, and departments who make this event a success every year. Happy Halloween!
