Roswell Park’s Department Of Indigenous Cancer Health Raises Awareness On World Cancer Day

On February 4, 2026, World Cancer Day, we stand together to raise awareness and inspire action for Indigenous cancer health. Indigenous communities continue to face some of the highest cancer disparities, but through unity, knowledge, and respect, we can make a difference.

At Roswell Park’s Department of Indigenous Cancer Health, they blend multidisciplinary expertise with generational wisdom to create culturally-attuned cancer care—from prevention to survivorship. Their mission: to reduce the impact of cancer on Indigenous communities locally, nationally, and globally.

The Department of Indigenous Cancer Health honors Indigenous values, sovereignty, and environmental stewardship through community-driven partnerships, collaborative research, and education. Their work spans both urban and rural settings, focusing on:

Cancer prevention & behavioral intervention
• Cancer screenings & clinical trials
• Summer research experiences for Indigenous students
• Cross-border partnerships for education and action

Together, let’s build a future where every Indigenous community has access to equitable cancer care. Learn more, get involved, or reach out: IndigenousCancerHealth@RoswellPark.org or check us out online HERE.
