Attention: The Planned Consultation Coordination Officer (CCO) and Public Open House Meeting at the Seneca Fire-Allegany Station has been Postponed

The proposed FEMA Consultation Coordination Officer (CCO) meeting and review of the preliminary Flood Insurance Study (FIS) reports and Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) for the Seneca Nation has been postponed. The meeting was to take place March 26th at the Seneca Fire Sation in Allegany, and will be tentatively rescheduled for a later date in April.

  • Purpose: The CCO meeting is a critical step in the Risk MAP (Mapping, Assessment, and Planning) process, designed to help local officials understand and adopt new flood risk data.
  • Participants: The meeting involves the FEMA Project Team and local community officials, administrators and planners.
  • Content: The meeting reviews preliminary FIRM panels, FIS reports, and Summary of Map Actions (SOMA).
  • Outcome: These meetings help communities prepare for potential 90-day appeal periods and ensure compliance with floodplain management regulations.
