Urban Indigenous Community Conversations
To Address Stigma surrounding Substance Use Disorders for the Urban Indigenous Population we are looking for members of the urban and suburban Indigenous communities of Rochester, Buffalo, Syracuse, and Niagara Falls to participate in a survey to assess stigma surrounding substance use disorders. The survey will explore use, impacts, identify obstacles to accessing treatment, and determine preferred resources and support options for these urban areas.
Participation in this survey will inform the design of a workshop to reduce stigma (negative judgement) so Indigenous peoples living in urban areas will seek treatment.
Participants must:
- Self-identify as either 1) American Indian/Alaska Native; 2) someone who serves the urban and suburban Indian community; or 3) healthcare professional providing any substance use disorder treatment directly to these Indigenous communities.
- Live or work in Cities and Suburbs of Rochester, Buffalo, Syracuse, or Niagara Falls, New York ZIP codes.
- Be Age 18 and older.
Study Activity Include: Completing On Survey (15-20 minutes to complete)
