Biography

2018-19: Turned into one of the most dominant post players in the conference during her junior campaign appearing in 26 games for the Bulls while earning 24 starts… Averaged career-highs in minutes (36.6), points (14.5) and rebounds (10.3) while making 58.1% of her field goal attempts and 73.7% of her free throw attempts… Named Second Team All-MAC… Named to the MAC All-Tournament team after averaging 17.7 points, 13.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists over three games in Cleveland… Set the MAC Tournament record with 21 rebounds and scored 16 points in the win over Ohio in the championship game (3/16)… Led the Bulls in rebounding (10.3) while also ranking first on the squad in offensive rebounds (190) and blocks (35) and third in steals (42)… Scored a game-high 23 points in the Bulls’ NCAA first round win over Rutgers (3/22)… Tied a career-high with 24 points and nine rebounds against Central Michigan (2/16)… Scored a then career-high 24 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in her first game of the season at Dartmouth (11/18)… Averaged 13.6 points, 10.4 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 1.2 blocks while shooting 59.2% from the floor across 18 regular season MAC games. 2017-18: Appeared in all 35 games for the Bulls while earning 28 starts as a sophomore… she started the final 21 games of the season for the Bulls… led the Bulls in rebounding (7.3) while also ranking first on the squad with 89 offensive rebounds… averaged a career-high 10.1 points while ranking second in the MAC in field goal percentage (.572)… ranked second on the team in blocks (52) and third in steals (56), both career-highs… notched a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds in the Bulls” second round NCAA win over Florida State (3/19)… had a monster game in the win over Ohio (2/24) as she notched a double-double with 10 points and program record 23 rebounds… scored a career-high 19 points to go along with 10 rebounds in the win over Ohio (1/17)… notched 18 points and 13 rebounds in a road win over Toledo (2/3)… averaged 11.9 points, 8.7 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 1.7 blocks while shooting 58.6% from the floor across 18 regular season MAC games… scored in double figures a career-best 18 times while also grabbing double digit rebounds a team-best eight times… collected a career-high five double-doubles on the year… handed out a career-best 32 assists… led the team in blocks 17 times and rebounds 15 times on the year.

2016-17: Appeared in all 32 games while earning 10 starts as a freshman… earned MAC All-Freshman team honors… ranks fourth on the team in scoring averaging 6.0 points while leading the team in rebounding as she is averaging 7.4 rebounds… has grabbed a team-best 81 offensive rebounds… averages 21.3 minutes/game which ranks third on the team… leads the team with a .525 shooting percentage… ranks second on the team in blocks with 37 (1.2/game) while ranking third in steals with 31 (1.0/game)… led the team in rebounding a team-high 15 times while gathering 10+ rebounds six times this season… led the team with four double-doubles on the season… dished out 23 assists… had the best game of her career against Ohio (2/22) as she tied a career-high with 15 points and grabbed a career-best 17 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season… the 17 rebounds were a freshman record for the Bulls and the eighth most in a game in program history… netted a career-high 15 points, 12 rebounds and a career-high three blocks in the Bulls win at Miami (1/14)… notched a season-high eight offensive rebounds in a 16-rebound effort against Bowling Green (2/25)… scored in double figures six times as a freshman.

High School: The first team All-WNY performer finished off her impressive senior season averaging 16.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 3.1 steals per contest as she led the Hawks to a 23-3 overall record and a Monsignor Martin Association championship… The athletic forward was also named All-Catholic Player of the Year following her great senior season as well as earning Most Valuable Player honors at the Pastor Cooper Tournament, Jamestown Tournament and Lady Dragons Tournament… One of the top players in all of WNY, Hemphill also earned third team All-WNY honors during her junior campaign and was a four-year team captain for the Hawks… She also played volleyball and ran track at Cardinal O”Hara, earning second team All-Catholic in volleyball and helping the 4×100 relay team earn a State Championship on the track… Hemphill is rated as a three-star recruit with an 88 scouts grade by ESPN.

Personal: Born on August 9, 1998… daughter of Willie Hemphill and Tina Kettle… has four sisters, Justina, Tacara, Tahawna and Teawna and three brothers Willie, Justin and Taylon… lists her favorite athlete of all-time as Lebron James… her favorite TV shows are First 48 and Full House… enjoys hip-hop and rap music and lists her favorite musician as Kanye West… she chose UB because she “loved the coaching staff, the players and the atmosphere! They make me feel like family already and i cant wait to become a member of the team officially.”
