The Easter season is upon us and we began our observation of season by hosting the ReLENTless Saturday craft activity and luncheon. We learned about the significance of Lent and Easter. We thank our friend from the Hamburg UMC for joining us for this family gathering. People think that Lent means giving up something – sweets, certain foods, etc. – but Lent is also a time for making changes in your life. Instead of giving up something why not start something new? Volunteering, helping a shut in or elder, visiting someone in a nursing home or hospital, etc. This is a time to take care of others – and yourself.
In the next few weeks we will be observing Easter through special services. We will be joining with our friends from the Versailles and Gowanda UMC’s as we prepare for Easter. The dates, times and locations of these services will be published in upcoming newsletters.
The Seneca Hymn Singers are looking forward to beginning their rehearsals. If their service is needed, please contact Beeda Parker or Terry Thompson. Once spring returns, they will resume their Tuesday night gatherings. As the coronavirus loosens its grip on our communities, please remember to be safe. Help to keep our communities healthy. Continue to pray for healing in our communities. Pray for those battling addictions. Pray for those who are mourning. Pray for those who are struggling with illness. But also, give thanks for all the blessings that we have in our lives. On Sunday morning you are invited to join us for Worship service at 9 a.m. We look forward to seeing you and your family. Peace.
