Two Native American Students in GHS Top 10

Although these past few years have not granted a conventional high school experience to any student, there are still some shining stars among the SNI community. Seniors Kaylee Baird (daughter of Andrea Baird) and Cameron Nagel (daughter of Dave Nagel and Christina Elliott, Turtle Clan) have both landed spots in the Gowanda Class of 2022 Top Ten! Both girls worked incredibly hard throughout their school experiences. Kaylee, number eight in her class, participated in cheer, band, chorus, and works part time at the local Shop n Save. She plans on attending SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry and majoring in Wildlife Science. Cameron, number nine in her class, participated in volleyball, cheer, bowling, and softball; as well as student government and yearbook. She plans on attending college and majoring in Childhood Education. Kaylee states she was proud and happy to be in the top 10; “It made me feel accomplished that all of my hard work has finally paid off.” Cameron had similar words and says; “Although it was challenging to stay motivated throughout the Covid years, my teachers were very helpful and I received a lot of support from them.” Both girls should be extremely proud of themselves.

Great job and congratulations!
