“Ladies in Blue” acquired by SINM

The Seneca – Iroquois National Museum is happy to announce the recent acquisition of this wonderful piece by Randee Spruce, Onödowa’ga:’- Heron Clan!

Ladies in Blue circa 1960“. 36 x 36 acrylic painting on canvas. Based on a photograph depicting Seline John, Alice Dowdy, & Fedelia Jimerson standing in front of the old Coldspring longhouse on the Ohi:yo’ Territory (also referred to as the Seneca-Allegany Territory).

The painting features original designs by Randee, and many motifs and symbols seen in earlier traditional Seneca artworks.
