Lake Shore Elementary Youth Summit at ECLC and Hatchery

The Seneca Nation Education Department hosted an Elementary Youth Summit at the ECLC. It was an educational and fun-filled day. Students participated in Behavioral Health classes, that helped them better understand what forms bullying can take, and how to address them.

The students had a real treat, as we walked to the fish hatchery, where the Conservation Dept. discussed local trout and turtle habitats. The final class took a close look at several Social dances that are very common when members of the community come together for various socials. After a wonderful lunch, the students put their, in some cases, newly acquired social dancing skills to the test, as we all came together for a Social.

As the day drew near to an end, the students received a bag filled with goodies, and returned back to school. Many thanks to the SNI Education department for arranging this great day, and Mr. Reynolds and Mrs. Jimerson for chaperoning!
