Red House Bridge Replacement /Old Route 17 Reconstruction Project
Construction will begin in the Fall 2023

Starting this spring NYSDOT and various SNI Departments will commence work on Old Route 17 and Red House Bridge. Initial activities will include conducting plant surveys, data collection, and mussel relocation. Listed below is an anticipated rough timeline of all activities for this project.

Construction Timeline includes:

• Spring 2023 – Plant Survey
• Summer 2023 – Date Collection
• July 2023 – Mussel Relocation
• August 2023 – Let Date
• September 2023 – Award
• October 2023 – Tree Cutting
• Fall 2023 – Demolition of Bridge
• Spring 2024 – Causeway Construction
• 2024 Construction Season – Construct east ½ of the bridge and west Highway work
• Fall 2024 – Remove Causeway
• Spring 2025 – Causeway Construction
• 2025 Construction Season – Construct west ½ the bridge and east Highway work
• Fall 2025 – Remove Causeway
• Winter 2025 – Project Complete
