Clean-Up Week in the City of Salamanca

Mayor Magiera and the Members of the Common Council and the City DPW have scheduled cleanup days in the City of Salamanca. It will require that debris must be on the curb by Monday, June 12, 2023, but not be placed before Wednesday, June 7, 2023.

In order for such debris to be collected from a premise, a fee of $40.00 per household (including per apartment for apartment owners) must be paid to the City. Anyone suspected of paying one fee for multiple households will be excluded from the cleanup.

  • No debris will be picked up until the proper fee is paid to the City.
  • Commercial/industrial establishments are excluded from the program with the exception of “Not for Profit” organizations.

Items that will be collected are:
Stoves, furniture, mattresses, doors, windows, gas grills (tanks removed), cabinets, toys, bicycles, empty paint cans, lamps, clothing, and books & magazines – all small items must be bagged or boxed. Yard Waste – must be boxed or bagged. Twigs, branches etc. must be bundled for pick up. Lumber – must be lengths no greater than 4 feet and must be bundled for pickup. Freon containing appliances (refrigerators, freezers, air-conditioners, etc.), televisions, computers or computer monitors will be picked up separately.

Items excluded from pickup include: Animal waste, garbage, soil, asbestos, batteries, concrete, any hazardous waste (paints, solvents or any liquids), tires, large pipe, complete tear off of a roof, large amounts of building materials.

Residents interested should submit payment by 4pm on Thursday, June 8, 2023, along with the property address to the City Comptroller, 225 Wildwood Avenue, Salamanca, NY. Information can be obtained by calling the Clerk’s office at 716-945-4620.
