Seneca Holdings continues to grow its federal government contracting business and is actively pursuing new businesses that can provide long-term growth and diversification for the Seneca Nation.
At this time of year, the federal government contracting business (which we refer to as the Seneca Nation Group or SNG) is very busy. Our companies are gearing up for a strong final quarter to the government fiscal year (which ends on September 30). The last quarter is particularly important for winning federal government contracts as there is typically a push by government agencies to use funds before they expire at the end of the fiscal year. The SNG business development team works with customers throughout the year to identify opportunities and grow the pipeline with the exception of end-of-year awards.
The federal contract pipeline this year is particularly strong and the SNG team is preparing for a large influx of new contracts.

The Holdings Management Committee has been working on a long-term growth and diversification strategy which was formally adopted in July. The long-term goal is to develop a diversified portfolio of businesses that can deliver long-term, sustained income to the Seneca Nation. The strategy includes continued growth in federal contracting and also developing new businesses in the portfolio.
This summer Seneca Holdings is partnering with the Vision 2020 Summer Internship Program to provide professional development training sessions to the high school and college interns. The sessions address financial literacy, team building, leadership, public speaking and professional writing. These skills are indispensable to those entering the workforce, and we are eager to help train and develop the next generation of leaders.
Progress on the Cattaraugus Territory Fiber Network continues with make-ready work and tree-trimming continuing through August. Seneca Telecommunications and Seneca Energy are co-managing the project and we expect construction to begin by early August. Our partners at DFT Communications will be providing service as soon as the network is operational.
